Pettapiece submits questions to government on important local issues

Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece submitted “Order Paper” questions in the legislature today. This initiates a process that will compel the government to respond in writing.

The following questions were submitted by Pettapiece:

Hydro Rates

Would the Minister of Energy please confirm the exact number of ratepayers in Perth-Wellington who will receive the 12% reduction in hydro rates for rural customers, which the Premier spoke about while in Perth-Wellington.

Stratford Perth Residential Hospice

Would the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care please confirm if and when he will provide his support, approval and funding necessary to continue the progress on the Residential Hospice Stratford Perth project.

Developmental Services

Would the Minister of Community and Social Services please provide an outline, including a timeline, of her plans to implement the 60 recommendations made by the Ombudsman of Ontario in his Nowhere to Turn report.

Child Care

Would the Associate Minister of Education (Child Care and Early Years) please confirm how many of the newly announced 100,000 child care spaces will be allocated to Perth-Wellington.

Joint and Several Liability

Would the Attorney General please clarify the “other places that we can find solutions” that he referred to during the AMO 2016 Conference when speaking about joint and several liability.

Family Responsibility Office

Would the Minister of Community and Social Services please provide an update on the pilot project for constituency offices to communicate with the Family Responsibility Office via email, and confirm the date when this will be rolled out to all constituency offices.

Horse Racing Purses

Would the Minister of Finance please provide a financial breakdown of horse racing purse sizes with annual figures from 2003 to present.

Ontario Racing

Would the Minister of Finance please advise whether Ontario Racing has legislated authority to carry out its mandate.
